# Quiz

> Guide shoppers with smart questions alongside the scan, and read their answers.

The quiz asks shoppers questions — skin type, sensitivity, allergies, email — alongside the skin analysis. Their answers refine recommendations and can be sent to your CRM.

## Build your questions

You build the questions without code, in the **Quiz Editor** of your business in the [panel](https://panel.getfaceage.com) — or in **Quiz Builder** in the Shopify app.

## Show the quiz

The quiz is on by default. Turn it off to go straight to the scan:

const faceAge = new FaceAge({
  elementId: 'FaceAge-module',
  faceageId: '<Your Client ID>',
  quiz: false, // skip the quiz and go straight to the scan
});
```

## Pre-fill answers

If you already know something about the shopper — for example, they're logged in — pre-fill quiz fields with `defaultQuiz`:

const faceAge = new FaceAge({
  elementId: 'FaceAge-module',
  faceageId: '<Your Client ID>',
  defaultQuiz: { email: 'user@example.com' },
});
```

## Read the answers

```js theme={null}
faceAge.API.getActiveSelections((data) => {
  console.log(data); // { email, skinType, ... }
});
```

The answers are also included in `getAdvisorData` as `data.activeSelections`, and in the payload of [`submitSdkIntegration`](https://getfaceage.com/docs/developer-guides/integrations/crm), normalized to `[{ question, answer }]`.
